INDORE: A group of class 4 students attacked a classmate with a compass and inflicted multiple puncture wounds over a minor quarrel at a private school in Indore on Friday.
The nine-year-old victim's parents were horrified to see his injuries when he reached home from school.
They took him to hospital for treatment and then informed police and the school."His members of the approached us with a complaint against his classmates and the school authorities, saying that the children had thrashed their ward and inflicted multiple wounds on his body using the sharp end of a compass.
When they approached the school authorities, no actions were initiated," said Aerodrome police station in charge Rajesh Sahu.Child sent for med exam, talks with parent on: Cop We have sent the child for medical exam and are speaking with parents of complainant and accused," added Sahu.
When police tried to contact the school authorities, they said that they would come around on Monday, said sources.
"We are recording statements of both groups following which further action will be taken," said Sahu.
