MUMBAI: The man who apparently eliminated his live-in-partner in their leased flat in Nalasopara had actually hidden the body in the bed cavity.
In their rent arrangement, they had claimed to be a married couple.
Hardik Shah, 26, who was detained from the Nagda junction railway station in Madhya Pradesh early Tuesday was given Nalasopara on Wednesday.
Hardik is implicated of strangling his live-in-partner Megha Torvi, 36 in the leased flat in Sita Sadan, Nalasopara (east).
According to police, the matter came to light when real estate representative Sanjeev Thakur approached the cops after he received a call from Meghas sibling in Karnataka on Monday.
She told Thakur that Hardik had actually called her claiming to have killed Megha and he also threatened to dedicate suicide.
Thakur reached the flat and found it locked from outside.Hardiks cell phone was not obtainable and there was a nasty odor emanating from the flat.
Police officers broke open the door to discover furnishings missing.
The foul odor led them to the bed in the bed room.
The body was discovered in the cavity of the bed.
The body had strangulation marks on the neck.
