NEW DELHI: Star India opener Smriti Mandhana made the headings straightaway as she was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a tremendous Rs 3.40 crore at the inaugural Womens Premier League (WPL) auction in Mumbai on Monday.

It was a two-way fight in between Mumbai Indians and Bangalore for Mandhana where the latter eventually outbid the Mumbai-based franchise.

The WPL will be held in Mumbai from March 4 to 26.
