Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed the most genuine condolences to his Turkish and Syrian counterparts after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake eliminated over 1,400 people early Monday.
We share the grief and pain of those who lost their relatives and enjoyed ones, Putin informed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a message published on the Kremlins website.He noted the many deaths and prevalent destruction in a different message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.At least 912 people died in Turkeys primarily Kurdish areas near Gaziantep and 560 in rebel and government-controlled parts of Syria, according to state media and medical sources.Thousands more are thought to have been hurt, as structures collapsed and rescue efforts continued amidst unfavorable weather condition conditions.Putin stated Moscow stands ready to provide the necessary help in handling the after-effects of this natural disaster.
Russias Emergency Situations Ministry stated independently that it has put two airlifters and firefighting airplane with 100 rescuers on standby to assist with relief efforts in Turkey.
