KATHMANDU, APRIL 7The newly appointed Chief Minister, Khagraj Adhikari, along with two other ministers, took the oath of office and secrecy administered by Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta during a function held here on Sunday.
Newly-appointed Bagmati Province ministers sworn-in Gandaki province chief, Bhatta, assumes office Similarly, Hari Bahadur Chuman and Rajeev Gurung were also administered the oath of office and secrecy as ministers without portfolio.Chuman was elected from the CPN (Maoist Centre), while Gurung was an independent candidate.
Province Chief Bhatta appointed Adhikari, the leader of the CPN (UML) parliamentary party, as the Chief Minister on Sunday in accordance with Clause (2) of Article 168 of the constitution.
Adhikari garnered support from 22 UML Province Assembly members, eight from the Maoist Centre, and one Independent to secure the CM post.
