KATHMANDU, APRIL 3Karnali Province's Chief Minister Raj Kumar Sharma announced his resignation from the post on Wednesday.

His resignation comes amid a shift in power dynamics within the federal government.CM Sharma, who was appointed representing CPN (Maoist Centre), declared his resignation in accordance with an agreement among the ruling parties to allocate the CM position to CPN (UML) in Karnali Province.
He stated that the provincial government had been adversely affected by the political instability in both the federal and provincial assemblies.
The outgoing CM lamented that the regular functioning of the provincial government had been severely hindered due to the changing power dynamics."It became impossible to effectively govern due to the political instability at both federal and provincial levels," said CM Sharma, adding that the power shifts also resulted in repeated attempts at votes of confidence.He emphasized the need for all parties to work positively towards the prosperity of Karnali Province.
Despite claiming significant achievements during his tenure, CM Sharma expressed regret for not meeting his own expectations.Among the notable efforts made during his tenure, he mentioned the formulation of a strategy for Digital Karnali and groundwork for the Karnali Investment Summit.
Additionally, he shared efforts to develop 23 local levels as model governments, along with making the selection process for plans and projects more objective and effective.
