INDORE: A Class 4 student was reportedly assaulted by three classmates 108 times using a geometry compass during a fight at a private school in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, an official said on Monday.The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has taken notice of the incident and has requested the police investigation report, according to the official.
CWC Chairperson Pallavi Porwal stated that on November 24, during a conflict at the private school under the Aerodrome police station's jurisdiction, the student was allegedly attacked 108 times with a geometry compass by his classmates."The case is shocking.
We have sought an investigation report from the police to find out the reason for the violent behavior of children of such a young age," she commented.The CWC plans to counsel the children and their families involved in the incident.
They also aim to investigate whether the children are exposed to video games containing violent scenes, Porwal added.The victim's father reported that his son sustained injuries in the attack that occurred around 2 pm on November 24.
Despite seeking answers, the school management has not provided CCTV footage of the classroom, he claimed.
A formal complaint has been filed at the Aerodrome police station.Assistant Commissioner of Police Vivek Singh Chauhan mentioned that the victim underwent a medical examination following the complaint.
All the children involved are below 10 years of age, and appropriate legal measures are being taken, he assured.(With agency inputs)
