HYDERABAD: Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao revealed Wednesday a Rs 1,000-crore strategy to refurbish the Kondagattu temple committed to Hanuman in Jagtial, 200km from Hyderabad, that draws thousands of fans in the belief that praying there heals the ill and responses wishes of childless couples.Also called Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy, the temple surrounded by hills is popular with celebrities and politicians - KCRs daughter K Kavitha and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan are frequent visitors.
Around 10 lakh pilgrims throng the shrine during Hanuman Jayanthi and about 20,000 every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.KCRs statement followed the revamp of Yadadri, the abode of Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy, frequently promoted as Telanganas Tirumala.
The state government had actually budgeted Rs 1,800 crore for Yadadri and the brand-new temple was inaugurated in March last year by KCR.
The CM had also announced advancement of Bhadrachalam temple and Vemulawada temple, where work began a couple of years ago.KCR visited the Kondagattu temple on Wednesday and stated Rs 500 crore of the total quantity will be approved this financial.
