DEHRADUN: Major Beena Tiwari, 28, whose picture went viral 3 days ago after it was posted by the Indian Army on its Twitter handle from a parafield medical facility in quake-hit Turkey, is a third-generation soldier from Dehradun.Her dad Mohan Chandra Tiwari, 56, retired as a Subedar Major in the Kumaon Regiment while her grandfather Khilanand Tiwari, 84, retired as a Subedar having served the same program.
Tiwari is part of the 99-member medical team which left for Turkiye on February 7 to contribute in relief and rescue work under the federal government of Indias Operation Dost initiative.Maj Tiwaris mother, Janki, said that they are able to speak with her simply for a few minutes a day .
