France experienced another night of protests, leading to the arrest of at least 1,311 individuals and 79 police officers sustaining injuries. The unrest stems from the death of a young man who was attempting to evade a roadblock and encountered police intervention. While the intensity of the riots was comparatively lower than the previous night, significant damages were still reported.According to the French Interior Ministry, the arrests were carried out by various law enforcement agencies, with the national police making 752 arrests, the gendarmerie making 153 arrests, and the Paris police prefecture making 406 arrests. The authorities noted a decrease in violence compared to the previous night, attributing it to the mobilization of security forces across the country.Among the injured officers, four were wounded in incidents involving firearms in Vaulx-en-Velin, while two officers suffered bruises and two were hit by shrapnel.Additionally, around 1,350 vehicles were set on fire, and approximately 234 buildings were damaged, although this was a decrease compared to the previous night’s figures. While the Paris region experienced a relatively calmer night, there were still notable incidents in peripheral areas such as Seine-Saint-Denis and Nanterre, where the young man’s death occurred.Marseille, Grenoble, and Lyon witnessed more concerning situations, including instances of looting. In response, the government deployed reinforcements in Marseille upon the request of the City Council. The situation remains tense as protests continue, prompting authorities to maintain a strong presence to ensure public safety and address the concerns underlying these demonstrations.f-2.mp4?#Size: 1.28 Mb
