Hyderabad: In a bid to woo the Muslim community, chief minister and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday promised to set up a special information technology (IT) park for Muslim youth at Pahadishareef if BRS was voted back to power for the third time.Addressing a public meeting at Maheshwaram, the CM said that while the Congress has always considered the Muslim community as only a vote bank and never worked for their development, the BRS government was secular as it considered Hindus and Muslims as the two eyes.The CM said there were no curfews and law and order issues during the last nine years of BRS government, while communal disturbances were a regular during Congress rule.Education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy is contesting from Maheshwaram.KCR said that the BRS government had brought industries, developed infrastructure and taken up various development projects in the assembly segment.

As many as 52 new industries have been set up in Tukkuguda in the past few years and Kandukur has become a development hub, he said.“Foxconn has decided to set up its manufacturing unit in Rangareddy which will provide one lakh jobs and another two to three lakh jobs will also be added in future as the firm wants to expand the unit,” KCR said.Stating that the BRS government focussed on water issues in constituencies such as Maheshwaram, Quthbullapur, Serilingampally and Rajendranagar, KCR said the government had spent ₹670 crore to resolve drinking water problems.

“Once the water pipeline around Outer Ring Road (ORR) is completed, drinking water issues would be resolved permanently in Maheshwaram constituency,” he said.The BRS president said that several colonies in Badangpet, Meerpet, Jalpally and Tukkuguda faced flooding during incessant rains earlier.

“The situation is tricky.

If lake water is released, colonies in downstream face inundation, if it is not released then colonies around the lakes face flooding,” the CM said, adding that the state government has spent about 100 crore on lake and nala development in the city.Taking credit for resolving major issues in the state, the CM said: “After the BRS cooked food, the Congress wants to serve in plates and claim credit.”KCR also spoke on Rythu Bandhu and Dharani.

He said if BRS comes back to power they would enhance Rythu Bandhu to 16,000 a year from the existing 10,000.

He said Dharani land web portal had simplified land registration procedures.
